Reading path
Rahu and Ketu
Rahu and Ketu occupy opposite ends of the chart. Begin with the published Rahu first- and second-house readings below, then follow Ketu in the opposite house. Read the two ends together through their house lords, dispositors and associated planets.
Begin with one of the published house readings
| Question | Start here | Read the opposite house as |
|---|---|---|
| Identity, presentation, autonomy | Rahu in the first house | Ketu in the seventh: compare both dispositors, then calculate whether the D9 repeats the first–seventh axis |
| Speech, family practice, personal resources | Rahu in the second house | Ketu in the eighth: compare both dispositors, then keep D1 resources separate from the calculated D2 |
The first article explores the self–partnership axis through a controlled Taurus/Libra comparison and a checked D1-to-D9 degree calculation. The second uses a controlled Taurus/Leo comparison to show how the same capable Mercury and Jupiter can route resources differently, then checks the 15° Hora boundary without turning D2 into a wealth guarantee. For the first–seventh axis, examine the ascendant and seventh lords to judge independence and commitment. For the second–eighth, examine both resource lords, gains and outflow before judging accumulation or shared wealth.
Follow both ends of the axis
Start with the occupied house, then follow both node dispositors. A supported dispositor can give Rahu’s appetite a productive channel; a damaged one can amplify pursuit without providing the means to sustain it. Ketu can reduce attachment or access at the opposite end, but a strong house lord may preserve the practical result. Timing identifies when these connections become active.
For the technical background, see Jyotish foundations and planetary relationships. The latter explains why node friendships are not universally tabulated.
